Al Salam Chromebook for Learning

Technology is the language of the twenty-first century. It is essential that every student leaves school with the digital literacy skills required to meet the challenges of tomorrow. The strategic use of technology in education provides unparalleled opportunities to level the playing field for disadvantaged pupils, and empowers every student to take the lead over their education. Access to tech is no longer about simply getting online, using email or conducting research. It is a tool for collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and communication, where digital technology is used for developing resilient and innovative learners, who are creators, not just consumers.

As a Google for Education school has adopted Chromebooks as the most effective and efficient digital solution for staff and students. In order to ensure the safety and security of all our students using technology, we remind our parents that it is essential to be able to manage all student devices within the school premises. Our policy for students in Year 3-13 is to have their own Chromebook device which can be used as a learning resource both at school and at home. Other devices such as iPads, Macs, Windows laptops or unlicensed Chromebook will not be permitted to access our school network and are not allowed on the school campus.

The School offers different Chromebook models with specs that meet the school’s educational requirements and are recommended by Google for Education. For parents who need to purchase a Chromebook, please fill in the following form and make the payment.
